K-12 Outreach/Summer Camps

2019 Summer Youth Enrichment Camps

The camps below are administered either by the ECU/NC State Collaborative or by our partners.  All of the camps will take place at the Gateway Technology Center on the campus of NC Wesleyan College.

They are listed in chronological order.

  • NC State University College of Veterinary Medicine Summer Camp
    • June 10 – June 14, 9am – 3pm (with some variation for field trips)
    • Open to current 6th-8th grade students
    • $200
    • Do you have what it takes to be a Veterinarian?  Come find out at this 5-day, non-residential camp from the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine.

  • Elementary Math Camp 
    • June 18 – June 21
    • Open to current 3rd-5th grade students 
    • $0, due to the generous financial support of the Carolinas Gateway Partnership
    • Do you enjoy math?  Do you want a little extra math practice over the summer?

  • NC State University’s Friday Institute STEM Camp
    • June 24 – June 28, 8am – 5pm
    • Open to current 6th-11th grade students
    • $200
    • The theme this year is “Internet of Things (IoT) Challenge.” IoT encompasses things connected to the internet.   Robotics, arduinos, and Raspberry Pis will be utilized in this fascinating world of connectivity.

Partner Camps

  • Shelton Leadership Challenge
    • July 7 – July 12, all-day/night residential camp
    • Open to current 8th-12th grade students (graduating seniors included)
    • The foundation of the program is based on General Shelton’s five cornerstones of values-based leadership – honesty, integrity, compassion, diversity, and social responsibility.

    • Camp College 2019 will open for registration on March 18.

    • Program is incorporated into the AIG student curriculum 
  • Englewood Elementary School:  LEGO Mindstorm EV3 Robotics and Coding

    • Program is offered to Mrs. Quigley’s 4th and 5th grade AIG students.
