K-12 Outreach/Summer Camps


Summer camps for 2020 are being finalized now.  The application links will open on February 3rd. 

2020 Summer Youth Enrichment Camps

The camps below are administered either by the ECU/NC State Collaborative or by our partners.  All of the camps will take place at the Gateway Technology Center on the campus of NC Wesleyan College.

They are listed in chronological order.

We hope you can join us for at least one!

  • NC State University College of Veterinary Medicine Summer Camp
    • June 1 – June 5, 9 am – 3 pm (with some variation for field trips)
    • Open to current 6th-8th grade students
    • $200 (A limited amount of scholarships will be available.)
    • Do you have what it takes to be a Veterinarian?  Come find out at this 5-day, non-residential camp from the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine. 
    • Application deadline is 5 pm on Friday, April 17.

  • Elementary Math Camp 
    • June 16 – June 19 (Tuesday-Friday)
    • Morning session: 9 am-noon   Afternoon session: 1-4 pm
    • Open to current 3rd-5th grade students 
    • $0, due to the generous financial support of the Carolinas Gateway Partnership
    • Do you enjoy math?  Do you want a little extra math practice over the summer?
    • Application deadline is 5pm on Friday, April 17.
    • The application period has closed for this camp.
    • Space is limited – students can apply for either morning OR afternoon session NOT both.

  • NC State University’s Friday Institute STEM Camp
    • June 20 – June 24, 8am – 5pm
    • Open to current 6th-11th grade students
    • $200  (A limited number of scholarships are available.)

Partner Camps

  • Shelton Leadership Challenge
    • July 12 – July 17, this is an all-day/night residential camp
    • Open to current 8th-12th grade students (graduating seniors included)
    • The foundation of the program is based on General Shelton’s five cornerstones of values-based leadership – honesty, integrity, compassion, diversity, and social responsibility.

  • Coopers Elementary School:  Sphero 2.0 Coding and Robotics
    • This program is held after school 
    • Registration is closed for this program
  • Nash Early College:  LEGO Mindstorm EV3 Robotics and Coding
    • Students learn to code by using LEGO EV3 Mindstorm robots
    • Program is offered during school to students at the Early College
